HUKA LODGE, Taupo

Huka Lodge has twenty suites and two residences, the Alan Pye Cottage and Alex van Heeren Cottage, set in 17 acres. The suites feature views of the gardens and the Waikato River. The Alex van Heeren Cottage has four bedrooms, king beds, premium linens, a fireplace, and bathrooms. The Alan Pye Cottage has two bedrooms and overlooks the lawns and gardens on the Waikato River banks.

Huka Lodge provides dining. Breakfast includes eggs, bacon, and local produce. Lunch is available in the lodge or on the terrace. Dinner includes beef and lamb from North Island fields, crayfish, and salmon. The Wine Cellar houses 4,500 bottles and hosts private dinners for up to ten guests. The bar offers spirits, cocktails, and mixed drinks.

Huka Lodge offers activities including tennis, croquet, and pétanque. Guests can walk along the Spa Park circuit to see the Huka Falls. There are two golf courses available: Wairakei International and Kinloch Signature. The Huka Spa features treatments with New Zealand-made skincare. A gym, sauna, contrast ice shower, and hot pool are also available.

Huka Lodge is 5 km from Taupo and near Huka Falls. Guests can embark on the Spa Park circuit walk which runs along the riverbanks. Lake Taupō and Tongariro National Park are nearby. Taupo Airport is a 15-minute drive. Helicopter charters from Auckland, Wellington, and Rotorua can land on the lawn. Private jets may land directly with advance arrangements.

Huka Lodge provides guest itineraries and packages. Dining includes breakfast, lunch, and a five-course dinner. A luxury cruiser offers scenic tours of Lake Taupō, including Māori rock carvings and optional trout fishing. The Atamai Cultural Experience connects guests with local Māori culture. There is Wiakato River water available for consumption.
